Hair Crisis

I've been thinking a lot recently about growing my hair out (long). I'm just having one problem- I can't let go of my short hair. Growing hair out long isn't the same as cutting it short- when you cut it, you don't have to think about it because you can just do it and it will be done in an hour. However, growing out your beloved pixie cut is a challenge especially if you still like your hair, but just want a change. It takes months or even years of growing to achieve luscious long locks, and that is so much commitment. How can someone feel the same way about their hair after three months; I know I change my mind on a daily basis.

I'm currently due for a haircut and actually have an appointment this Saturday, but I don't know if I want to embark on the journey of short hair again. It's fun to have short hair, I'm not going to deny it, but it also seem like it would be fun to have hair that blows in the wind and seems to go on for miles- I wouldn't know because the last time my hair was below my shoulders was in fifth grade. Anyway, I'm conflicted between two beauties- the natural wonder of swirling, flying, long hair, and edgy and sexy, short hair. The picture at the top of the page is my hair within the first few days of getting it cut (it definitely doesn't look like that anymore)

On one hand, I feel very confident with short hair- something about just says, "Don't mess with me". Although I think I could be just as confident with long hair as well. What are you're opinions on long hair vs. short hair? Has anyone had a similar situation? Please comment and let me know.
